Central sweeps four-team swimming meet

Central Davidson swept a four-team meet Thursday in Salisbury.
The Spartans won with 191 points followed by Lexington (117), East Davidson (82) and Salisbury 70. In the girls’ contest, it was Central 168, Lexington 140, East Davidson 101, Salisbury 74.
Winning for the Central boys were Connor Gallimore (200 free), Logan Hammond (50 free), Connor Sturgill (100 fly), Adam Amende (100 free), the 200 medley relay team (Gallimore, Jonathan Hench, Sturgill, Hammond), the 200 free relay team (Amende, Zeb Walser, Gallimore, Hammond) and the 400 free relay team (Greyson Myers, Sturgill, Amenda, Hammond).
Winning for the Central girls were April Kearns (100 back), 200 medley relay team (Kearns, Mamie Gates, Allyson Bowers, Lexi Bodford) and the 400 free relay team (Bowers, Erin Laws, Marisa Laws, Korbin Eller).
Blythe Riggan took a pair of first places for the Lexington girls in the 100 fly and 100 free. The Lexington boys had a pair of double winners — Adam Wetherell (200 IM, 100 breast) and Cole Riggan (500 free, 100 back).
East Davidson’s Marina Moore won the 200 IM and the 500 free. The East girls 200 free relay team of Lizzie Fitzgerald, Hannah Rich, Carly Murphy and Moore was victorious.
