West finishes third
West Davidson went 3-1 and finished third in the Dragon Duals in Tyro on Friday. South Mecklenburg went 4-0 to win the tournament, and Providence Grove (3-1) was runner-up. High Point Central placed fourth, North Davidson fifth, Grimsley sixth, East Davidson seventh and Starmount eighth.

For West, Frank Phillips, Shane Hemmings, Josh Shoaf and Tyler Hudson all went 4-0 on the day. The Dragons improved to 4-10, and they welcome Salisbury on Thursday.

For East, Asa Bohannon went 4-0, and Drake Holbrook, Brad Hutchins and Bryce Bolen all went 3-1. The Eagles host Lexington on Thursday.
