North girls win Invitational


North Davidson’s girls won the North Davidson Invitational, held Friday at Winston-Salem State University in memory of Clark Myrick.
North’s girls finished with a total of 558 points, followed by East Forsyth, 458, Southwest Guilford, 398, Central Davidson, 351, and Reidsville, 221.


East Forsyth won the boys’ competition with 556 points, followed by Central, 470, North, 457, Southwest, 349, and Reidsville, 97.


Winners for North’s girls were the 200 medley relay team, Savannah Johnston (200 free, 500 free), Rachel Greene (200 IM, 100 back), Haley Pace (50 free), Kacie Michael (100 free), the 200 free relay team, and the 400 free relay.


North’s Sam Day won the 200 IM and the 500 free.


Central’s Logan Hammond won the 50 free.

Knights sweep Spartans


North Davidson’s boys and girls swept a Central Piedmont Conference meet with Mount Tabor at Winston-Salem State University on Jan. 3.


North’s girls won 100-70, while North’s boys won 89-80.


Winners for North’s girls were Savannah Johnston, Rachel Greene, Heather Coppley and Kacie Michael (200 medley relay), Johnston (200 free, 100 back), Michael (50 free, 100 free), Bridgette Bonnette (500 free), Madison Wooten, Kaylyn Vaughan, Haley Pace and Kacie Michael (200 free relay), and Johnston, Kylee Wooten, Madison Wooten and Coppley (400 free relay).


Winners for North’s boys were Heath Tucker, Sam Day, Brady Whicker and Jadd Smith (200 medley relay), Day (200 free, 100 breast), Whicker (50 free, 100 back), Matthew Warrick (100 butterfly), Whicker, Smith, Sam Martin and Sam Day (200 free relay).
