Central Middle edges South
Central Davidson Middle School’s boys pulled out a 47-40 victory over South Davidson on Thursday.
Will Biesecker and Devin Kiser scored 11 points apiece for the Cadets, and Alex Crook chipped in 10.
Central finished the regular season at 4-6, and will open the Davidson/Davie Middle School tournament on Tuesday.
North Middle boys share title
North Davidson’s Middle School boys closed out the regular season by beating previously unbeaten Ledford 48-24 in Wallburg on Thursday.
Caleb Moore poured in 20 points for the Knights, who finished at 12-2 and earned a share of the division title. Kennedy McKoy added nine.
The Knights open the Davidson/Davie Middle School tournament against South Davidson at Lexington Middle School at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Sheets girls top Union Grove
Faith Sallee scored 12 points and Natalie Wilson had nine points and rebounds as Sheets Memorial Christian School beat Union Grove Christian School 42-24 in a girls’ game on Thursday at Sheets.
Sarah Gainey added eight points for the Eagles, who are now 6-7 and play at Rockwell on Thursday.
Lara Beaver and Kristina Hauk each scored eight points for Union Grove.
Sheets JV Gold shines
The Union Grove Christian School junior varsity boys eked out a tough 46-40 victory over Sheets Memorial Christian School gold team Thursday at Sheets.
Tyrese Hearst poured in 15 points for the Eagles, and Brody McCullough added 12.
In other action, the Sheets blue team lost to Union Grove 33-26 despite 10 points from Copelin Hester and eight from Sage Leonard.
On Wednesday, the Sheets JV gold team romped the Davidson County Home Educators 47-18.
Tyrese Hearst paced the Eagles with 12 points, and Adam Bruff added 10.
Sheets moved to 8-8 with the win. The Eagles visit Rockwell Christian on Friday.
