Thomasville wraps up CCC
Thomasville capped off a perfect run through the Central Carolina Conference with a 52-27 victory at Lexington on Wednesday.
For the Bulldogs, Corbin Wilson (126), Brett Hokenson (132), Luke Williams (145) and Jordan Hagens (heavyweight) all won by pin. Aaron Reeves (152) won by major decision, and Jason Voutsady (113), Tay Dupree (120), Gabe Brockett (170) and Ryan Broadie (195) won by forfeit.
For Lexington, Danford Carpenter (138), Darel Martin Jr. (160) and K’Bron Horton (182) won by pin; Allan Palomares (106) won by decision, and Oris Morgan (220) won by forfeit.
Thomasville finished the regular season at 5-0 in the CCC, 26-11 overall.
The Bulldogs and Jackets will wrestle at West Davidson on Saturday in the Central Carolina Conference tournament, and Thomasville qualified for the 2-A dual team state tournament, which starts Tuesday.
Central pins West
Central Davidson rolled to a 51-27 Central Carolina Conference victory at West Davidson on Wednesday.
Tyler Everette (113), Brandon Hogan (126), Richie Acord (132), Christian Pompey (138), Desmond Mabe (170), Alex Gallaher (195) and Jacob Comer (heavyweight) all won by pin for the Spartans, who moved to 3-2 in the CCC, 14-12 overall. Jake Smith (220) won by decision, and Nathan Propst (106) won by forfeit.
For West, Frank Phillips (120), Shane Hemmings (152), Dustin Beaver (160) and Josh Shoaf (182) won by pin, and Justin Smith (145) won by decision. The Dragons finished at 0-5, 6-15, and they will host the CCC tournament on Saturday.
Ledford rolls by Bears
Ledford stepped outside the Mid-Piedmont Conference and rolled to a 54-24 win at Chatham Central on Wednesday.
For Ledford, Ashan Butt (113), Austin DeBerry (126), Jacob Bowman (138), Shabaz Butt (145), Cody Essick (152), Ricky Hall (170), Lupe Cervantes (220) and Josh Vivod (heavyweight) all won by pin; Drew Chappell (132) and Tristan Lovette (160) won by decision.
The Panthers, now 33-11, will wrestle in the MPC tournament at Southwestern Randolph on Tuesday. They also qualified for the 3-A dual team state tournament, which opens on Tuesday.
Hornets sting Eagles
Salisbury turned back East Davidson 46-27 Wednesday in Central Carolina Conference action.
For East, Robbie White (132), Tyler Rhodes and Asa Bohannon (182) all won by pin; Brad Hutchins (145), Bryce Bolen (160) and Josh White (heavyweight) won by decision.
East finished at 2-3 in the CCC, and the Eagles will participate in the CCC tournament at West Davidson on Saturday.
