South boys down Eagles


South Davidson’s boys defeated East Montgomery 69-56 in Yadkin Valley Conference action in Biscoe on Tuesday.


Austin Hatfield poured in 27 points for the Wildcats, who moved to 13-2 in the YVC, 19-4 overall. Jordan Hughes added 16 points,

Taylor Hatfield had 11 and Wil Collins pulled down 11 rebounds.


South hosts South Stanly on Friday.


South girls hit 10 straight


The South Davidson girls ran their winning streak to 10 straight games with a 46-32 Yadkin Valley Conference victory at East Montgomery on Tuesday.


Holly Wall paced the Wildcats with 13 points and seven rebounds. Larsen Sigmon added 12 points and six steals, and Madi Beeson had 10 points.


South, now 13-2 in the YVC, 16-6 overall, welcomes South Stanly on Friday.


Sheets boys fall


The Sheets Memorial Christian School boys dropped a 63-50 decision at Oak Level on Tuesday.


Tanner Wilhoit scored 30 points to eclipse the 1,000 career point mark for the Eagles, who fell to 5-16. Tyrese Hearst added six points and Kent Johansen had five.


Sheets hosts Fellowship on Thursday.


Mt. Tabor drops North JVs


North Davidson’s junior varsity boys suffered a disappointing 59-54 defeat at the hands of Mount Tabor in Winston-Salem on Tuesday despite 23 points from Quin Cunningham.


Jordan Santana pumped in 18 points for the Knights, who dipped to 13-8. North welcomes Davie County on Friday.


Ledford girls romp


Ledford’s girls cruised to a 68-24 victory over North Forsyth in a Mid-Piedmont Conference tilt in Winston-Salem on Tuesday.


Emmalee Thomas bombed six 3-pointers en route to 28 points for the Panthers, who improved to 8-1 in the MPC, 19-4 overall. Courtney Callicutt kicked in 12 points. Ledford hosts Asheboro on Friday.


Ledford boys fall


North Forsyth’s boys turned back Ledford 88-77 in Winston-Salem on Tuesday in Mid-Piedmont Conference action.


Daniel Lawson led the Panthers with 32 points, and Nathan Parks pumped in 22 in the losing effort.


Ledford fell to 2-7 in the MPC, 6-16 overall. Ledford welcomes Asheboro on Friday.


Ledford JV girls roll


Ledford’s junior varsity girls routed North Forsyth 76-6 in Wallburg on Tuesday.


Monnie Davis paced the Panthers with 18 points, and Kayla Leach and Ashlyn Noah added 14 apiece. The Panthers, now 17-3, visit Asheboro on Friday.


East JVs hold off West


East Davidson’s junior varsity girls held on for a 53-41 victory over West Davidson in Tyro on Tuesday.


Savannah Wagoner poured in 16 points for the Eagles, and Jessica Ferguson added 14. Hannah Green paced the Dragons with 13 points.


West JV boys top East


West Davidson’s junior varsity boys survived East Davidson 49-42 in Tyro on Tuesday behind 18 points from Nolan Peoples.


Jacob Gobble pitched in 10 points and Nathan Little nine for the Dragons, who travel to Central Davidson on Friday in the season finale.
