Sheets boys drop season finale

Sheets Memorial Christian’s boys finished their season with a 55-25 loss to Fellowship Christian.

Jake Simmons paced the Eagles with nine points, and Stephen Egelnick added eight.

Sheets finished the season at 6-20.
Sheets girls make state playoffs

The Sheets Memorial Christian School girls clinched a spot in next weekend’s state championship tournament with a 39-24 victory over Union Grove Christian in the regional semifinals at Oak Level in Stokesdale on Friday.

Sarah Gainey and Laura Blinson powered the Eagles with 10 points apiece, and Blinson pulled down 13 rebounds. Natalie Wilson added seven points and 14 rebounds as the Eagles improved to 10-11.

Sheets will face Woodland at Oak Level on Saturday for the regional championship, then open the state tournament at Fellowship Christian in Durham on Thursday.
