Ledford Middle rolls to win over South Middle
Ledford Middle School scored 36 unanswered points, after falling behind 6-0 early, en route to a 36-6 victory over South Davidson Middle School on Wednesday.
Alex Hallman led the Panthers with touchdown runs of 15, nine and 65 yards. McAllister Ingram hit Alex Yokley for a 64-yard touchdown pass, and Keyon Crowder rounded out the scoring with a 55-yard run to paydirt. Ibrahim Zaitawi kicked two PATs, and Derek Scruggs kicked another for the Panthers, who improved to 3-1 in the conference, 3-2 overall. Ledford hosts Tyro Middle School at 4:30 p.m. next Wednesday.
Central Middle wins again over North Davie
Central Davidson Middle School squeaked past North Davie Middle School 22-20 Wednesday.
Marquez Stiller had 77 yards rushing and a touchdown for the Cadets, who improved to 4-1. Greg Brown ran for one touchdown and passed for 117 yards. Devin Kiser caught a 33-yard touchdown pass, and Gavin Hailey kicked two PATs.
The Cadets host South Davidson next Wednesday.
Tyro falls to Oak Grove
Oak Grove Middle School beat Tyro Middle School 38-16 in a game played Wednesday at Ledford Middle School.
Austin Ferguson ran 6 yards for a touchdown and caught a 54-yard touchdown pass from Brett Lingerfelt. Michael Ballew kicked a pair of two-point conversions.
The Dispatch did not receive a report from Oak Grove.
Tyro, 1-4, visits Ledford Middle School next Wednesday.
Brown downs North Davidson Middle
Cody Mounts ran for two touchdowns as Brown Middle School beat North Davidson Middle School 24-8 on Wednesday in Welcome.
Mounts scored on runs of 2 and 75 yards. Chris Buttery and McKagan Barrett each had a 5-yard touchdown run and Brandon Thornton caught two passes for 65 yards.
Joe Butts scored on a 2-yard touchdown run for North.
Brown, 4-1, faces Oak Grove Middle School on Oct. 24 at East Davidson.
