Ledford loses close one

Ledford dropped a 20-18 decision in JV action at Asheboro on Thursday.

Sayquan Moore scored all three touchdowns for the Panthers, who fell to 6-2.

The Panthers host Southern Guilford next Thursday.

Bulldogs JVs win big

Thomasville’s junior varsity defeated West Davidson 32-0 Thursday night at Glosson Stadium in Tyro.

The Dragons, now 2-5, visit East Davidson next Thursday.

Central JVs edge Eagles

Central Davidson’s junior varsity slipped past East Davidson 14-12 Thursday at Spartan Community Stadium.

Marquise McLaughlin passed for 200 yards and two TDs for the Eagles. Allen Blevins caught three passes for 100 yards, and a touchdown with three minutes to play. Nick Bolen then hauled in a 35-yard touchdown pass as time expired to get East within 14-12. After the Eagles missed their first PAT, they had to go for two after the final touchdown, but McLaughlin was stuffed at the goal line.

Moore sparks Oak Grove

Nydarrius Moore ran for two touchdowns in Oak Grove Middle School’s 38-16 win over Tyro Middle School on Wednesday.

Chris Ballard returned a kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown, Juy Smith returned an intercepion for a touchdown and Beau Byerly had a rushing touchdown. Sean Yarbrough and Ryan Williams each intercepted a pass.

Oak Grove, 2-3, faces North Davidson Middle School at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at North Davidson High School.
