Dragons clinch No. 2 seed

West Davidson edged Central Davidson 5-4 at the Bingham Tennis Center on Thursday, clinching the No. 2 seed in the Central Carolina Conference for the dual team state tournament.

Singles winners for the Dragons were Amber Oyola, Callie Herman and Rachel Trexler.

Singles winners for Central were Tori Rhodes, Ashley Rhodes and Kacy Surratt.

Oyola/Herman and Olivia Varner/Madyson Prevette picked up doubles wins for the Dragons to clinch the match.

Tori Rhodes/Surratt won in doubles for the Spartans.

West, now 10-6, qualified for the playoffs with the win.
