Panthers nip Asheboro

Ledford slid past Asheboro 19-13 in a Mid-Piedmont Conference clash in Wallburg on Friday for the Panthers’ homecoming.



Ryan Trudniak caught two passes for 104 yards and a touchdown for Ledford. Dalton Harris ran for 64 yards and a score, and Jeremiah Rice ran for 69 yards.



Zach Gilliam added a field goal for the Panthers, who also got a safety in the fourth quarter.



Ledford, now 2-1 in the MPC, 5-4 overall, visits Southern Guilford next Friday.



South falls hard

Jared Page ran for 39 yards and a touchdown, but it was nowhere near enough as South Davidson dropped a 41-6 Yadkin Valley Conference decision to West Montgomery in Mt. Gilead on Friday.



The Wildcats finished with 80 yards rushing, and did not complete a pass on the night.



South, now 1-4 in the YVC, 1-8 overall, hosts South Stanly on Friday.
