Sheets girls roll in opener

The Sheets Memorial Christian School girls romped to a 49-13 victory over White Plains in their season opener in Mount Airy on Thursday.

Sarah Gainey led the Eagles with 13 points, and Laura Blinson and Natalie Wilson added 10 points each.

In the boys game, Sheets fell behind early and couldn’t complete a furious rally in a 44-41 loss.

Stephen Egelnick had 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead Sheets.

The Eagles host the Surry Home Educators on Tuesday.

Sheets JV girls fall

The Sheets Memorial Christian School junior varsity girls dropped a 19-12 decision to White Plains in Mount Airy on Thursday.

Alyssa Stacey paced the Eagles with six points.
