Sheets girls win big

Sarah Gainey had 24 points and six steals as Sheets Memorial Christian cruised to a 55-25 win over Rockwell Christian on Thursday at Sheets.

Natalie Wilson scored 12 points, Laura Blinson had nine points and Capria McRorie had six points and 10 rebounds.

Rockwell’s boys turned back Sheets 59-19. Jake Simmons led the way for the Eagles with nine points and six rebounds.

Sheets visits the Surry County Home Educators on Tuesday.

Oak Grove boys top North

The Oak Grove Middle School boys downed North Davidson 43-34 Thursday. Chris Ballard led the Grizzlies with 12 points.

In the girls’ game, North nipped Oak Grove 27-23. Brook Tilley paced the Grizzlies with 11 points.

Oak Grove hosts South Davie on Monday.

CDMS boys win again

Central Davidson Middle School boys shut down Tyro Middle 29-14 at Central on Thursday.

Greg Brown poured in 14 points for the Cadets, who got strong defensive efforts from Devin Kiser and Jawann Washington.

Hunter Hallman’s five points led the way for Tyro, and Bryce Beck added four.

Central welcomes North Davie at 4:30 p.m. Monday, while Tyro visits Ledford Middle on Monday.

LMS girls cruise

The Lexington Middle School girls romped to a 42-11 victory over Quality Education on Thursday at Lexington.

Lexington’s boys lost 53-49 despite 19 points from Will Lancaster and 14 more from Adrian Craven.

Lexington welcomes North Davidson Middle at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Sheets JV boys roll

The Sheets Memorial Christian School junior varsity boys stayed unbeaten with an easy 41-6 victory over Rockwell Christian on Thursday.

Michael Marshall and Brody McCullough had 10 points each for the Eagles, who improved to 8-0. The Eagles host Franklin Heights on Tuesday.

Lexington announces makeup date

The Lexington boys’ game against New Hope Christian Academy, originally scheduled for Dec. 3, will be played at 6 p.m. Dec. 14.
