Knights advance to title game


WINSTON-SALEM | Shy Tuttle led a balanced attack with 13 points as North Davidson upended Central Piedmont Conference rival West Forsyth 69-65 in the semifinals of the Frank Spencer Classic’s Pepsi Cola bracket on Thursday at Joel Coliseum.

Brandon Easter had 11 points while Boyce Wooten had 10 and Chase Mitchell nine for the Black Knights.

North (6-4) will face Forsyth Country Day at 7 p.m. Friday at Joel Coliseum for the bracket championship. Forsyth advanced with a 77-72 overtime win over McMichael.

Sam Buckner led West Forsyth (7-5) with 15 points.

Southeast Guilford girls 52, East Davidson 44

Kayla Upshaw led three Falcons in double figures as Southeast Guilford beat East Davidson 52-44 in the semifinals of the NewBridge Bank Christmas Classic on Thursday at Ledford.

Kara Shutt had 14 points and Kenya Hailey 12 for Southeast Guilford, which plays Ledford in Friday’s championship game.

Bayley Plummer led East Davidson with 14 points.

North Davidson girls 67, Central Davidson 48

Lauren Ramsey scored 18 points and Taylor Darrow had 17 as North Davidson whipped Central Davidson 67-48 in a consolation game Thursday in the NewBridge Bank Christmas Classic at Ledford.

Sydney Bryan added nine points for the Black Knights.

Paige Chavis led Central with 19 points and Chandler Young had 10.

Lexington girls 61, West Davidson 42

Jasmine Carter poured in 22 points as Lexington beat West Davidson 61-42 in a consolation game of the NewBridge Bank Christmas Classic on Thursday at Ledford.

Emerson Hayes added 18 points for the Yellow Jackets and Kerrigan Ellison had 11.

Emily Hutchinson led West with 12 points and Alicia Middleton had 11.
