Ledford outlasts East Davidson

Brandon Rothrock poured in 40 points as Ledford outlasted East Davidson 80-74 in overtime in a consolation game Friday in the NewBridge Bank Christmas Classic at Ledford.

Skylar McGee added 13 points for the Panthers.

Matthew Johnson led East with 24 points, Josh Craven had 20 and Taylor Booze 10.

South drops consolation

South Davidson fell 82-36 to Southeast Guilford in a consolation game Friday in the NewBridge Bank Christmas Classic at Ledford.

Zeke Hazelwood led South with 13 points.

Ledford JV girls win two

Ledford’s girls won a pair of games in the Bank of the Carolinas/Randolph-Asheboro YMCA JV Holiday Classic in Asheboro.

In the first round, Ledford beat Ragsdale 52-19. Jordan Teer and Megan Hayworth each scored 14 points for the Panthers.

In the second round, Ledford beat Northwood 41-26. Teer had 13 points while Alyssa Doby and Hayworth each had 10.

Ledford (10-2) will play Eastern Alamance at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Randolph-Asheboro YMCA for the championship.

Central JV boys fall to Randleman

Central Davidson fell 60-43 to Randleman in the Bank of the Carolinas/Randolph-Asheboro YMCA JV Holiday Classic in Asheboro on Friday.

Ryan Shull led Central with 14 points and Chase Wall had 11.

Thomasville JV boys win

Thomasville beat Bishop McGuinness 45-35 in a boys’ Bank of the Carolinas/Randolph-Asheboro YMCA JV Holiday Classic game on Friday in Asheboro.

Tyquan Anderson led Thomasville with 11 points and Quidell Hill had 10.

South JV girls fall

South Davidson fell 49-23 to Chatham Central in a girls’ Bank of the Carolinas/Randolph-Asheboro YMCA JV Holiday Classic game on Friday in Asheboro.

Candice Cook led South with 10 points.

Central JV girls take win

Rebekah Cope, Briana Robertson and Kaitlyn Coppley each scored seven points as Central Davidson beat Grimsley 31-14 in a girls’ Bank of the Carolinas/Randolph-Asheboro YMCA JV Holiday Classic game on Friday in Asheboro.

Thomasville JV girls win

Kayla Graham led four scorers in double figures with 18 points as Thomasville edged Jordan-Matthews 58-57 in a girls’ Bank of the Carolinas/Randolph-Asheboro YMCA JV Holiday Classic game on Friday in Asheboro.

Lisa Burgess and Lisa Furr had 13 points for the Bulldogs while Kachina Clemons added 11.
