Spartans surge by West

Central Davidson wrapped up second place in the Central Carolina Conference with a 50-21 victory over West Davidson at Central on Wednesday.

Winners for Central were Tyler Everette (106), Tyler Rogers (126), Brandon Hogan (132), Christian Pompey (138), Josh Moore (145), Chris Moore (152), Desmond Mabe (170), Chase Blankenship (195), Jacob Comer (220) and Kade Roach (heavyweight).

Winners for West were Dylan Lannie (113), Samuel Antonelli (120), Justin Smith (160) and Rick Kurtz (182).

Central, now 4-1 in the CCC, 19-8 overall, will participate in the CCC tournament at Thomasville on Saturday. West finished the regular season 2-3 in the league, 10-14 overall. The Dragons will wrestle in the CCC tournament also.

Bulldogs squash Lexington

Thomasville roared to a 75-6 victory over Lexington in a Central Carolina Conference match Wednesday.

Winning by pin for the Bulldogs were Hiygee Martin (106), Jason Boutsady (113), Tay Dupree (126), Corbin Wilson (138), Evan Makupson (160) and Antonie Brisano (220). Luke Williams (145) won by tech fall, and Ahsan Butt (120), Darius Broadie (152), Aaron Reeves (170), Gabe Brockett (182) and Keith Clemons (195) won by forfeit.

Lexington heavyweight Zach Mauldin won by forfeit.

Thomasville finished the regular season with a perfect 5-0 mark in the CCC, 34-3 overall. The Bulldogs host the CCC tournament on Saturday.

Eagles slam Salisbury

East Davidson downed Salisbury 52-19 in a Central Carolina Conference match in Thomasville on Wednesday.

Winning by pin for the Eagles were Jose Navarro (145) and Brad Hutchins (160). Bryce Bolen (182) and Logan Ware (195) won by decision, Bryce Barnard (152) won by major decision, and Chris Coble (113), Cody Hussey (120), Guiliano Postek (126), Gage Love (132) and Josh Elliott won by forfeit.

East finished 3-2 in the CCC, 10-10 overall. The Eagles will participate in the CCC tournament at Thomasville on Saturday.

Wildcats win two

South Davidson picked up a pair of nonconference victories Wednesday, beating Union Academy 61-6 and West Montgomery 45-24.

Korby Chappell, Bo Cooper, Cord McDowell, Wyatt Suggs, Ty Varner, Corey Farrington, Jeff Vick and Wyatt Beck all went 2-0 for the Wildcats, who improved to 15-19. South will wrestle in the Yadkin Valley Conference tournament Saturday at Chatham Central.

North falls

Davie County downed North Davidson 72-9 in a Central Piedmont Conference match in Mocksville on Wednesday.

Winners for the Knights were Jacob Lester (152) and Nicholas Wimmer (285).

North visits Reagan on Thursday.
