Spartans lose opener

Central Davidson fell 7-3 to 3-A power Marvin Ridge to open the 2013 season Friday night at Central.

Kylie Ward took the loss for the Spartans.

Erin Laws, Morgan Roach, Mackenzie Comer and Josie Jones led Central, which got seven hits, at the plate.

Central visits Davie County on Monday.
