Lexington’s Mauldin takes 6th
Lexington sophmore Zach Mauldin went 3-3 in the state tournament and finished in sixth place in the 285-pound division, becoming the youngest to place in that weight class.
“We are going to set the goal of him winning a state championship next year,” said Lexington coach Randy Kearby.
Senior Danford Carpenter suffered an ankle injury in his last match and was 1-2 in the tournament. Carpenter finished his Lexington career with 97 wins.
