South pounds Thomasville

South Davidson romped Thomasville 19-2 in three innings in a nonconference tilt Monday.

Taylor Hedrick got the win for the Wildcats, striking out five batters. Hedrick also had three hits, including a double and three RBIs.

Tabby Bailey and Tiffany Ferrell had two hits each. Danielle Hunt drove in three runs, and Veronica Davis, Ferrell and Serena Sink had two RBIs apiece.

South improved to 1-0 in the Yadkin Valley Conference, 2-0 overall.
