Snider lifts Wildcats

Amanda Snider’s hat trick sparked South Davidson to a Yadkin Valley Conference victory over Albemarle on Thursday.

Lindsay Miller scored the other goal for the Wildcats, and Addie Grubb pitched the shutout in goal for South.

Wheatmore downs West

Wheatmore sneaked past West Davidson 1-0 in nonconference action Thursday.

The Warriors scored the lone goal with eight minutes to play.

West’s defense, led by Erin Hennessee, Kallie Potter, Breann Jarrett and Kate Cogar, were very solid, and Emily Hutchinson had eight saves in goal.

The Dragons, now 1-5, visit Lexington at 6 p.m. Monday.

West hosts Thomasville at 6 p.m. Wednesday for the school’s community night. Any soccer player from Reeds, Churchland or Tyro wearing a jersey will be admitted to the game free.
