Central rolls Thomasville
Central Davidson rolled to a 19-2 victory over Thomasville in five innngs in their Central Carolina Conference game on Friday at Finch Field.
Jordan Laws was 2-for-4 with four RBIs while Josh Moore went 3-for-4 to lead the Spartans. Jeff Adkins pitched four innings to get the win. Adkins allowed one hit and two runs — one earned — while striking out five and walking four. Kade Roach pitched a scoreless fifth, striking out two.
Central, 3-6 overall and 2-0 in the CCC, visits Salisbury on Tuesday.
East downs Lexington
East Davidson beat Lexington 16-1 in a five-inning Central Carolina Conference game on Friday at Holt-Moffitt Field.
Braxton Shetley went 3-for-5 with four RBIs and Nick Williams was 1-for-3 with a double for the Eag;es. Avery Bowles (3-1) went three innings, striking out eight, to get the win.
Jordan Holden (1-2) took the loss.
East, 9-2 overall and 2-0 in the CCC, visits Thomasville on Tuesday.
Lexington, 2-6 overall and 0-2 in the CCC, hosts West Davidson on Tuesday.
Wildcats fall to South Stanly
South Davidson fell 11-0 to defending 1-A state champion South Stanly in a five-inning Yadkin Valley Conference game on Friday.
The Wildcats are now 0-8.
CDMS takes two
Central Davidson Middle School swept a doubleheader from North Davie Middle School on Thursday, winning the first game 5-4 and the second game 11-10 at Central.
Austin Norris was the winning pitcher in the first game and Greg Brown got the save. Brown also had a double.
Cody McKinney got the win in relief and Brandon Leonard got the save. Colby Smith, Will Jones, Hayden Hedrick and Brown all had two hits.
Central will host Brown Middle School at 5 p.m. Monday.
Lexington Middle wins
Lexington Middle School’s minors team beat Central Davidson Middle School 13-10 on Friday.
Keshaun Bradley, Adrian Craven, Holt Biesecker and James Moore led LMS at the plate. Cameron Peoples was the winng pitcher.
Lexington (1-4) visits Oak Grove Middle School at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
North Middle stays unbeaten
Three pitchers combined on a five-inning no-hitter as North Davidson Middle School’s majors team beat Brown Middle School 14-0 on Friday at East Davidson.
Nick Tiller pitched three innings, striking out four to get the win. Alec Hunter struck out three in one inning and Blaine Curry struck out one in one inning.
Austin Beck was 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and three runs; Joe Butts was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs; Jed Bryant was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs; and Jacob Rhodes was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run.
North, 5-0, hosts North Davie Middle School at 5:30 p.m. Friday at North Davidson High School.
Ledford nips Southwestern Randolph
Duke Boger fired his second straight shutout, a three-hitter, as Ledford nipped Southwestern Randolph 1-0 in a Mid-Piedmont Conference game on Friday.
Boger struck out six.
Austin Stilley was 2-for-3 with a double and Tebo White was 1-for-2 woth a double for the Panthers.
Ledford, 5-5 overall and 2-1 in the MPC, travels to North Forsyth at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
