East rolls on
East Davidson moved to 4-0 in the Central Carolina Conference with an easy 14-3 victory over Thomasville at home Thursday.
Avery Bowles got the win for the Eagles, tossing three no-hit innings. Ryan McIntire was 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, Tyler Stroup was 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs.
East, now 11-2 overall, hosts Ledford at 7 p.m. April 5.
West blanks Lexington
Justin Freeman pitched a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts as West Davidson blanked Lexington 11-0 in five innings on Thursday at Feezor Field.
Freeman, a sophomore left-hander, is now 4-0.
Matt Allen was 2-for-3 with a double, Zach Queen was 2-for-2 and Graham Shoaf smashed a two-run homer.
West, 9-2 overall and 3-1 in the CCC, plays North Rowan at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Asheboro.
Central falls to Salisbury
Central Davidson fell 10-0 to Salisbury in six innings in their Central Carolina Conference game on Thursday at Central.
Jordan Lakey went 2-for-2 with a double for the Spartans and Spencer Snider had a double. Jeff Adkins took the loss.
Central fell to 3-8 overall and 2-2 in the CCC.
South blanked by West Montgomery
South Davidson fell 20-0 in five innings to West Montgomery in their Yadkin Valley Conference game on Thursday in Mount Gilead.
The Wildcats are now 0-11.
Sheets tops Tabernacle
Evan Gurner threw six innings of two-hit ball to lift Sheets Memorial Christian School to a 3-0 victory at Tabernacle of Monroe on Thursday.
Gurner struck out 13 against four walks. Jake Simmons worked the seventh inning for the save.
Brody McCullough, Simmons and Jake Stillman had two hits apiece for the Eagles, who host Fayetteville Street Christian at 4:30 p.m. April 11 at Holt-Moffitt Field.
