Panthers JVs win big over Central

Cole Crowe scored three touchdowns to lead Ledford’s junior varsity to a 27-14 victory over Central Davidson in Wallburg on Thursday.

Dallas Hartle scored the other touchdown for the Panthers, who moved to 5-1.

Jason Wray ran for 73 yards for the Spartans, and Austin Morton ran for 72. Jacob Baldwin scored from a yard out, and Greg Brown tacked on a 15-yard TD run.

Central dipped to 3-2. The Spartans welcome Southern Guilford on Thursday, while Ledford visits Asheboro on Thursday.

Butts leads North JVs past Davie

Joe Butts threw two touchdowns and ran for another two as undefeated North Davidson routed Davie County 34-0 in a junior varsity game on Thursday at Palmer Field.

Butts connected with Nygil Dalton on a 42-yard touchdown pass and Garrett Griffith on a 4-yard touchdown pass. He scored on a pair of 1-yard runs. Ryan Williams added a 1-yard touchdown run and Clay DeHart was 5-for-6 on extra point kicks.

Corey Joyce and Kenneth Dellinger each intercepted a pass and Ishmael Luna recovered a fumble.

North (6-0) hosts Parkland next Thursday.
