North JVs roll

Joe Butts tossed three touchdown passes to lead the North Davidson junior varsity to a 41-0 victory over Parkland at Palmer Field in Welcome on Thursday.

Garrett Griffith (35 yards, 75 yards) caught two touchdown passes, while Nydarrius Moore (57 yards), hauled in the other for the Knights. Clay DeHart booted field goals of 32 and 21 yards, then converted all five PATs. Nygil Dalton returned a punt 64 yards for a score, and Ryan Williams tacked on a 9-yard run.

Hunter Hinson led the defense for North, which improved to 7-0. The Knights are off next week, then visit Reynolds on Oct. 24.

Ledford JVs win

Ledford’s junior varsity defeated Asheboro 22-8 in Asheboro on Thursday.

Eddie Nickerson, Cole Crowe and Devan Carter scored one touchdown each for the Panthers, who improved to 6-1.

The Panthers entertain Southwestern Randolph on Thursday.

West JVs fall

West Davidson’s junior varsity dropped a 28-0 decision to Thomasville at Glosson Stadium in Tyro on Thursday.

Cason Fowler ran for 89 yards to pace the Dragons.

Central JVs fall

Central Davidson fell 30-16 to Southern Guilford in junior varsity action Thursday at Central.

Austin Morton had 20 carries for 85 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a two-point conversion run. Jason Wray had 96 yards on 18 carries. Justin Toney added a two-point conversion run.

Central (3-3) visits North Forsyth next Thursday.

Central Middle drops shootout

South Davie Middle School outscored Central Davidson Middle 50-32 Thursday.

Troy Beck, Austin Hensley and Austin Cooney ran for scores for the Spartans. Alex Trexler connected with Cannan Helton on a 20-yard touchdown pass, and Cameron Turner hit all four 2-point kicks.

Central, 4-2, visits North Davidson on Wednesday.
