Dragons finish with win

West Davidson closed out the regular season with a 25-21, 25-22, 25-11 Central Carolina Conference win at East Davidson on Thursday.

Sarah Green and Kaley Adair paced the Dragons iwth seven kills apiece. Spencer Harper and Hannah Green added six kills each, and Sarah Green had three blocks. Adair added four aces as West finished 9-1 in the CCC, tied with North Rowan for the conference title. The Dragons will play in the CCC tournament semifinals at East Davidson on Tuesday.

Tri-City tops Sheets

Sheets Memorial Christian School dropped a tough 25-20, 25-11, 25-23 decision to defending state champion Tri-City Christian on Thursday.

Sarah Gainey had 16 service points and 11 assists for the Eagles, who slipped to 19-3. Laura Blinson added four points, four kills and three blocks.

Sheets hosts Shining Light at 5 p.m. Monday.

Bulldogs down Jackets

Thomasville finished the regular season with a 25-12, 25-15, 23-25, 25-15 Central Carolina Conference win over Lexington on Thursday.

Christina Coleman paced the Bulldogs with 25 service points, four aces, three kills and two blocks. Megan Kinley added 21 points with five aces, Alexus Nelson had 16 points and five aces, Shakemia Matthews had 12 points and three kills, and Jashana Thomas added seven points and 10 kills. Lisa Burgess tallied 15 points and three aces.

Thomasville won the JV match 25-13, 25-11. Carmen Mize had 13 service points with three aces and three kills, Kayla Gammons added 12 points and five aces, and Aiyonna Hill had 11 points. Sade Butler had seven kills.

Trinity drops South

Trinity defeated South Davidson 25-16, 25-16, 25-15 Wednesday.

Anna Gardner had 11 points and two blocks for the Wildcats. Summer Bivens added 10 points, and Danielle Hunt had seven points.

South lost the JV match 25-10, 25-6. Dinora Guiterriez led the way for the Wildcats with four service points.
